I need static routes on some of my OSX machines. It is really just trouble to have to re-enter the route every time I rebooted.
Windows has a great static route command by using the “route add -p” syntax (for persistent).
So things aren’t so easy with OSX.
You can create a startup script that applies the routes as explained here : http://www.secure-computing.net/wiki/index.php/Leopard_Static_Routes
or use this small piece of software here : http://www.hanynet.com/routesplit/index.html
Nice addition to those pesky route removals on reboot!
