So, new job, move to California. New Active Directory and all sorts of stuff.
One thing that I have found INCREDIBLY useful is searching AD for SMTP email addresses. We have a multi site thing going on, and there are ALL SORTS of user accounts and email accounts that don’t line up very well. In short, it’s a mess. Looking up email addresses that I want to find the user account associated is awesome.
Pop into the AD mmc and go to domain root, or wherever you want to search and hit the ‘find’ and then go to ‘custom search’ in the drop down and then ‘advanced’ in the tab.
type this in: “proxyaddresses=smtp:user@domain.com” and do a search.
Nothing short of a wonderful headache removal.
